Following our successful District finals for the 2004-2005 and 2005-2006
competitions why not ask Great Yarmouth, Stowmarket, Peterborough and
Leigh-on-Sea Lions Clubs about their involvement. The clubs that have
entered candidates provided all that attended the finals with very enjoyable
afternoons of music and fellowship.
District Governor John has asked that the competition continue so - - -
Why not get YOUR Club involved with the musical youth in your area? As the
2007-2008 instrument is Violin so you are looking for a Violinist who will
be under 25 as at the 1st January 2008.
Get out and about and find a young Violinist to represent your Club and Town
in the competition.
If you have a local youth orchestra or band try approaching them direct to
identify a candidate. Alternatively you could contact your Counties
Education Department, Music Advisory Section and ask if any of the Advisors
are willing to help locate suitable candidates.
Having made the commitment to support a young musician in your area, why not
organise a concert as a fundraiser and bring the talented youngster and
possibly a local band/orchestra to a wider audience.
