About Us

Witham & District Lions Club is part of the world’s largest voluntary organisation – Lions Clubs International.

Our Local Areas Covered

We provide voluntary help to those in need throughout Witham, Rivenhall, Silver End, Kelvedon, Feering and Hatfield Peveral.

What do We Get Up To?

Help has and is provided in many forms; we take the Chernobyl children to Frinton each year, provide furniture and other such help, Christmas parcels to the elderly and families in need, dog walking, hospital runs, aiding the blind, disabled and deaf. We have electric wheelchairs in use in the community. We have supplied nebulizers and other such equipment for local surgeries, heart monitor for Broomfield Hospital and other such equipment too numerous to mention. Internationally we support appeals in respect of major disasters such as the Tsunami. We also sponsor young people on voluntary service overseas, provide eye camps and collect used spectacles for use abroad. We have helped to provide water wells in the third world and much more.

How Do We Fund All These Activities?

We hold fund-raising events, such as tombola's, street collections, fairs, rummage sales, boot sales and our annual Easter Egg Draw. You name it and we have tried it or are willing to try it.

Our Organisations Proudest Boast

All monies raised from the public is spent on our charitable welfare work. No money raised from the public is used in the running or administration of our clubs. Members pay for this out of their own pocket by way of membership dues.

Fun and Fellowship

It is not all work for members, we do have fun with inter club visits, club nights playing skittles or pitch and put etc, outings, talks, dances and much more.

Do You

Can You

The club is in Region 2, Zone B of District MD105EA, and is always looking for new members and will offer a warm welcome to all visitors.
