Our attention is now focussed on the Elmhurst Extravaganza.
An afternoon of old fashioned family fun, with attractions
from the tradition Punch and Judy and coconut shy to
the more modern bouncy castles, with a number of stall
and sideshows. This year’s event will be held on Sunday
2nd May, admission to Elmhurst Park is free, all proceeds
will be returned to the community, the principal beneficiary
will be East Anglian Children’s Hospice. On a seasonal
note, with the days lengthening, we have begun planning
for the Christmas parcels project!
The recent Chilean earthquake coming so close on
the one in Haiti underlined the value of the unique
value of the Lions’ Clubs International Foundation,
a disasters and emergencies fund which can rapidly make
funds available via the network of Lions Clubs and continues
to support the essential re-building that follows in
the aftermath of such disasters.
