Acle & Brundall Lions are a small but friendly club who cover a vast number of events in the local community considering the fact that the membership is barely in double figures. It is a testament to the dedication and commitment of the members that so many events are covered and fundraising opportunities are taken. Our club covers a wide rural area geographically, bordered to the west by the village of Thorpe St. Andrew, to the east by Stokesby and to the north and south by the rivers Bure and Yare respectively. Last year was an important year for us. Founded by a group of seventeen local men in June 1966 as Acle & District Lions, the club has continued to prosper in the face of variable membership levels ever since. In 2007 the decision was taken to change the name to Acle & Brundall Lions partly because a majority of the members live in Brundall and partly because it was felt it may have a wider appeal to prospective members. To mark the changing of the name a publication was put together comprising over 70 pages of local, national and international news month by month from the year the club was born пїЅ 1966. There are still copies of this trip down memory lane available and they can be obtained for a minimum donation of £2.50 from Lion Stuart Grimes. The club is in Region 3, Zone A of District MD105EA, and is always looking for new members and will offer a warm welcome to all visitors.
