Dear District Governor:

The next Senior Lions Leadership Institute for Europe will be offered in Bologna, Italy on October 31-November 3, 2010.  We seek your assistance to help recruit qualified Lion participants for the institute.  It is a valuable opportunity to build on skills that enhance the leadership qualities at the zone, region and district levels.

The institute in Bologna is designated as a Senior Lions Leadership Institute and is targeted to Lions in good standing that have completed a successful term as club president, but have not yet attained the position of first vice district governor.   Lions who are region and zone chairpersons, as well as second vice district governors, are encouraged to apply to this institute. Candidates do not have to hold a position currently (for details, see the enclosed application materials).

Lions Clubs International will pay for meals and lodging in accordance with the schedule of the institute.  Additionally, LCI will make appropriate hotel reservations for each participant on a twin-share basis.  Participants are responsible for all travel expenses to and from the venue in Bologna, inclusive to all relevant ground transportation charges. 

Please help us to recruit for this institute in Bologna, Italy by providing a copy of the attached application to Lions leaders in your district, including your region and zone chairpersons, to remind them of this event.  Please ask them to promote the institute and actively encourage qualified candidates to apply. The success of this institute depends on the participation of Lions leaders from across your constitutional area.  The application packet is also available on the web site, www.lionsclubs.org .

We will be accepting fifty (50) Lions, total, between two classrooms.  The languages this institute will be conducted in are English and Italian.

Completed forms must be returned by AUGUST 17, 2010.

From New Century Lions

New Century Lions Club of East Anglia are delighted to invite you to their ninth charter anniversary taking place at the Imperial Hotel in Great Yarmouth on Friday 19th and Saturday 20th November 2010. There will be a quiz night on the Friday night starting at 7.30pm which is £12 a head including food (maximum of 4 per team). The charter dinner and dance on the Saturday night starts at 7.30pm and is £25 a head. The menu choices for both nights are:

Friday night - Chicken and Chips or Goats Cheese and Spinach Tart with a Rocket and Red Chard Salad.

Saturday night:

Leek and Potato Soup Or Prawn Cocktail

Roast Topside of Beef and Yorkshire Pudding Or Butternut Squash Risotto (V)

Both served with a selection of Seasonal Vegetables
