Programme of events

Thursday 17th March 2011

Lions may extend their stay by booking the Thursday night.  They are most welcome to join the local clubs with their pre-Convention evening meal.  This is at the cost of £18.50 and you will be able to pre-book this on the booking form. 

Friday 18th March 2011

The Don Peech Convention Tournament will take place at the Thorpe Meadows Golf Club, just across the road from the hotel. Coffee and Bacon Roll will be served on arrival from 9.00 a.m. First Tee off 9.30 a.m. Individual Tee times will be advised. Enjoy Soup and Sandwiches after 18 holes of golf on the challenging Thorpe Meadows Golf Course. Click on the link below for a virtual tour of the golf course.

Midday will see the raising of the Lions Flag.

Registration will be manned between 14.00hrs to 18.30hrs

Cabinet lunch will be at 13.00hrs and this will be followed by a short meeting

Host Night will open at 7pm.  Will all those that are taking part in the “Parade” contact the DJ at the opening to give their details.  The theme for this year is “A Night at the Races.  It should be stated at this time that all presentations will be limited to a maximum of 5 minutes.     The “Parade” will commence at 7.30pm.  Food will be available from 8.15pm and we request you are seated soon after for the entertainment.

Saturday 19th March 2011

Those members arriving on the day will be able to purchase tea or coffee and pre-order a bacon roll or veg. alternative

Delegates are requested to take their seats by 08.45hrs

If there is sufficient interest, partners will be able to have a private tour of Burghley House, see attached details. Alternatively mini buses will transfer partners into Peterborough City Centre.

7:00 for 7:30pm District Governors Banquet & Ball. Formal evening with DJ’s or lounge suits and ladies Dress to impress

Accommodation. 2 nights £122 or 3 nights £183 (Double inc. Breakfast)

Single room rate £55 per night inc. Breakfast.

The hotel has it’s own leisure centre with swimming pool and gym all guests have free use during their stay

Saturday Bacon roll for day visitors £4.50 (pre order) Tea or coffee £2.00

Golf   £25.00

Host Night £26.00 p.p.

DG’s Banquet & Ball £32.00 p.p.

Convention Pin £2.50 each.
